Soil Carbon Information Session presented by Peter Donovan

Peter Donovan, cofounder with Abe Collins of the Soil Carbon Coalition, will give an introductory presentation on why and how a practical understanding of carbon cycling, for which the management of the soil surface is our greatest leverage, offers a powerful and little-understood opportunity for a social shift from managing against problems, to managing for what we want and need.  For more information, visit their website at:  www.soilcarboncoalition.org

Information Session:   City Hall    Tuesday evening January 10th, 7 pm   Room TBA  Eventbrite Reservation Link

Please send a reservation via the Eventbrite link as we have truly no idea about how big a room to reserve a city hall.  Please check with the security officer at the front regarding which room we will be in.

Soil Carbon Workshop presented by Peter Donovan

This 4-hour participatory workshop begins with the fascinating story of the (ongoing) discovery of biological carbon cycling, its increasing relevance to the problems and opportunities of today such as flooding, drought, food security, and climate change. With some exceptions, our three major sectors -- government, private business, and the nonprofit sector -- have proven ill-suited, particularly on their own, to managing the carbon cycle well at the soil surface. What opportunities does a practical understanding of carbon cycling offer to decision making and leadership? What might be the paths of creativity, cooperation, and innovation? What are we doing to shift from managing AGAINST what we don't want, to managing FOR what we want and need?  For more information, visit their website at:  www.soilcarboncoalition.org
