Chicken tractors & grubs
One of our favorite ideas and sure to please young kids for many years.  Food scraps in one end, and chicken eggs out
the other!  No food scraps left on the grass, less odor, and you get a rich nutrient tea as well as a compost for your soil.  Black Solider Fly grubs are quickly gaining popularity as an efficient and natural compost system in the Southern USA.  The grubs are an excellent source of protein and lipids for your hens.  All this from your bones, meat and food scraps!
